"In this recent series of paintings, I am continuing to explore the theme of stories being told through objects, whether it be a journey traveled, a working life lived, or a childhood memory sparked. I like to think that by capturing these themes in their current environment (and on large canvas); they are given a new life.
1: Ruston Bucyrus; originally
a mining crane, now, semi-retired to a coastal rock wall, dredging an
inlet for fishing boats.
2: Chevrolet; from an era when a car was a work of art, and a reflection
of a persons character.
3: Wild Mouse; the same ride (unchanged) from my childhood; now my kids’
favourite ride at Luna Park.
4: Red Phone; big, loud, colourful and sexy. The way communication is
meant to be conducted.”
