Maxine Jepson’s latest work explores the world of the oriental. Through
various application techniques, her paintings achieve an inviting sense
of age and historical intrigue. This is articulated through a vibrant palette,
seeped in a tonal mutation of the shellacked surfaces. Maxine’s passion
for the historical is never ending. Extensive research informs her body
of work and interprets the environments of specific periods with renewed
freshness of vision. Maxine’s
experimentation with various mediums has also allowed her to refine her
approach. By doing so she successfully creates depth to her composition
through innovative artistic effects. Her stylised approach has resulted
in creating a strong, highly decorative, body of work.
